Don’t get us wrong. We can drink zinfandel any time of the day, but there comes a time during summer in Dry Creek Valley when you’re playing bocce or lounging by the creek where you want a cool glass of something refreshing and simply put, yummy. Just because they’re easy drinking doesn’t make these wines any less complex or interesting. We have some incredible chilled wine producers in this valley and we wanted to share some of our favorites; so, we put together this itinerary for the white and rosé fans out there to give you our best spots to go to just “chill out.”
Start your chilled out day at this iconic winery in the southern tip of Dry Creek Valley. Mill Creek Winery is one of the original wineries in Dry Creek Valley with its first vineyards planted in 1965 and the winery opening its doors in 1975. Proprietor, Yvonne Kreck and winemaker-son, Jeremy, are crafting a lasting impression on the industry with their classic, signature, small-lot wines that just keep getting better each vintage. The property offers two large picnic areas, a tasting room featuring a beautifully landscaped working water wheel and millpond, and spectacular views of the Dry Creek Valley.
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Estate Rosé, Gewürztraminer and Estate Chardonnay.
Exclusive Sips: Gewürztraminer. A show-stopping, award winning wine. If you need to impress someone, this is the bottle you show up with.
Next, head up Dry Creek Road to West Wines where you’ll find the tasting room tucked away under a huge oak overlooking their vineyards. Their winemaking is inspired by French traditions of elegance and complexity combined with the fruity and rich flavors from their grapes grown in their sustainably farmed vineyards. Owners, Katarina Bonde and Bengt Akerlind came from Sweden to Seattle in 1992 and then moved south to Healdsburg, CA where they found their passion in this beautiful wine country. We’re so glad they did, because there wine has become a favorite of ours and soon to be yours as well.
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Sparkling Blanc de Blancs, Viognier, Chardonnay and Late Harvest Viognier.
Get it While It Lasts: Chardonnay. The newest vintage of West Wines chardonnay is a show-stopper. Buy a few bottles while it’s still around!
Just around the bend, you’ll see Comstock Wines. Comstock opened their doors in 2015 and have become a classic, iconic stop for delicious and memorable wines. As you walk onto the property, you’ll be immediately at ease as acres of vineyards unfold before your eyes. With a bocce court, gorgeous terrace, and outdoor pizza oven, you’ll be tempted to spend your entire day there – and we won’t blame you if you do!
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Rosé, and Sparkling Wine.
The Full Experience: Call ahead and book their Terrace Tasting for a flight of 6 wines including their irresistible Sauvignon Blanc. Their new resident Chef is also there to cook you up amazing bites to enjoy alongside the incredible view.
Moving right along to Zo Wines. A beautiful, new property that has made an impact since opening their doors in 2017. At Zo you are welcome to learn about wine surrounded by vineyards, stay among the vines at the farmstay inn, and taste the distinctive hand-crafted, small-lot wines. We love the Wine Sensory Workshop followed by a picnic filled with goodies from the Dry Creek General Store across the street.
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier and Rosé.

Continue your wine tasting venture at Unti Vineyards, a small, family-owned and operated winery. Unti specializes in Mediterranean style wines that express a keen sense of place. Established in 1997, the winery produces small lots of estate grown varieties. As self-proclaimed obsessive wine fanatics, the staff at Unti will geek out with you over tastes of their highly coveted wines and love of Southern European varieties.
Chilled Wines: Cuvee Blanc, Fiano, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Rosé, and Muscat.
Rare and Enchanting: Grenache Blanc from Unti is crisp stand-out and crowd favorite from their Mediterranean line-up.
While Reeve may only currently produce a couple of “chilled” wines, we included them on this itinerary because their entire persona embodies perfectly what it means to chill out and enjoy wine in the best possible setting. Their wines are complex yet approachable, full of personality and perfectly shareable. Reeve is a captivating property that immerses and embraces you in wine country with open arms.
Chilled Wines: Riesling and Rosé.
Coming Soon: Owners of Reeve just planted new vines of Sangiovese and Falanghina on their Dry Creek Estate. These baby vines will start producing organic, unique wines in just 3-years! Until then, enjoy their many other diverse wines ready to enjoy now

Understand that due to the limited and small production from our wineries you may not always be available to taste specific wines on a by request basis, but you are always available to purchase by the bottle or join a winery’s club to be first on the list the next time the wine comes around!
