Don’t get us wrong. We can drink zinfandel any time of the day, but there comes a time during summer in Dry Creek Valley when you’re playing bocce or lounging by the creek where you want a cool glass of something refreshing and simply put, yummy. Just because they’re easy drinking doesn’t make these wines any less complex or interesting. We have some incredible chilled wine producers in this valley and we wanted to share some of our favorites; so, we put together this itinerary for the white and rosé fans out there to give you our best spots to go to just “chill out.”
MILL CREEK

Start your chilled out day at this iconic winery in the southern tip of Dry Creek Valley. Mill Creek Winery is one of the original wineries in Dry Creek Valley with its first vineyards planted in 1965 and the winery opening its doors in 1975. Proprietor, Yvonne Kreck and winemaker-son, Jeremy, are crafting a lasting impression on the industry with their classic, signature, small-lot wines that just keep getting better each vintage. The property offers two large picnic areas, a tasting room featuring a beautifully landscaped working water wheel and millpond, and spectacular views of the Dry Creek Valley.
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Estate Rosé, Gewürztraminer and Estate Chardonnay.
Exclusive Sips: Gewürztraminer. A show-stopping, award winning wine. If you need to impress someone, this is the bottle you show up with.
WEST WINES

Next, head up Dry Creek Road to West Wines where you’ll find the tasting room tucked away under a huge oak overlooking their vineyards. Their winemaking is inspired by French traditions of elegance and complexity combined with the fruity and rich flavors from their grapes grown in their sustainably farmed vineyards. Owners, Katarina Bonde and Bengt Akerlind came from Sweden to Seattle in 1992 and then moved south to Healdsburg, CA where they found their passion in this beautiful wine country. We’re so glad they did, because there wine has become a favorite of ours and soon to be yours as well.
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Sparkling Blanc de Blancs, Viognier, Chardonnay and Late Harvest Viognier.
Get it While It Lasts: Chardonnay. The newest vintage of West Wines chardonnay is a show-stopper. Buy a few bottles while it’s still around!
COMSTOCK WINES

As you walk onto the property, you’ll be immediately at ease as acres of vineyards unfold before your eyes. With a bocce court, gorgeous terrace, and outdoor pizza oven, you’ll be tempted to spend your entire day there – and we won’t blame you if you do!
Chilled Wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Rosé, and Sparkling Wine.
The Full Experience: Call ahead and book their Terrace Tasting for a flight of 6 wines including their irresistible Sauvignon Blanc. Their new resident Chef is also there to cook you up amazing bites to enjoy alongside the incredible view.
