At Michel-Schlumberger, we believe in celebrating life as often as possible. From private moments of relaxation to special occasions, our passion is to delight all of your senses. Our culinary and hospitality teams are unsurpassed and will ensure your event will be memorable.
Michel-Schlumberger Estate is composed of two vineyards, both adjacent to our winery located in a side canyon along Wine Creek, above the northwestern part of the Dry Creek Valley.
The Benchland vineyard is comprised of 60 acres of grapes planted on the southerly facing rolling foothills next to the winery. The grapes are planted in a unique pocket of “benchland” soils which are lighter than the deep dark soils at the Dry Creek valley floor. These well drained soils play a key part in building the concentration and complexity of our wines.
The Bradford Mountain vineyard is planted to about 20 acres of grapes and is separated by a small forest above the highest point of our Benchland vineyard. Here, at the top of Bradford Mountain, the classic red volcanic soils are very light and tend to produce grapes of very concentrated and unique personality.
Our excellent climate is warm enough to fully ripen the grapes to rich maturity, yet cool enough to retain all of their varietal flavors.
A careful selection of flavorful clones and vigor-limiting rootstocks is made to best match each block of land that is planted. Sustainable farming practices, including minimal tilling, use of ground cover and limited irrigation, combine with meticulous vine care to provide vines that are able to yield highest quality grapes with small berries and intense fruit flavors.
