Featured Winery: Göpfrich Estate Vineyard & Winery

About:

 Göpfrich Estate Vineyard & Winery is a small, limited production winery located in northern Dry Creek Valley. Owned and operated by the husband/wife team of Ray and Bonnie Goepfrich, they take great pride in creating all of their wine from estate grown fruit. The wines reflect the tradition brought over from their home wineries of their family heritage in Germany.

2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Good ripe, dark fruit, ample body with medium plus rich tannins. A richness and good length in the finish. Aged in the highest quality imported French chateaux barrels, this wine is extremely well balanced and drinkable now, and will only improve in smoothness with patience and time.

2010 Estate Cuvée

A nice blend of 35% Merlot, 35%, Syrah, 15%Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Zinfandel has resulted in a wine that is complex, deep, and rich in dark fruit flavor, yet soft and elegant with a very nice finish.

2010 Zinfandel

A Zinfandel from the Dry Creek Valley that will make you smile! The aroma is of rich raspberry, and bright fruit with a range of mixed berries. Subtle sweet oak with vanilla and light toast derived from the blend of American, French, and Russian oak in which it was aged. It has a rich round mouth feel without being too heavy.

2010 Syrah

Inky black color with a super rich and complex aroma of condensed plum, black cherry and mixed dark fruits. A rich and round concentrated mouth feel, with a long super rich and silky finish.

2010 Merlot

We like this wine because it is good for you and helps grow strong bones and teeth. Merlot, being one of the major  Bordeux varietals can really be a nice wine. For those of you who haven’t given up on Merlot will like this wine.

2011 Rosé

This is very good stuff. A very nice rose, clean crisp with good acidity and a slight amount of residual sugar. A wonderful summer kind of wine that is easily paired with number of different foods especially lighter summer fare.
