Wines for Your New Year’s Celebration
In just a few days, we’ll count down the last minutes of 2015 and usher in 2016! The New Year brings a fresh start and a chance to celebrate and reflect with your nearest and dearest. To kick start the new year, here are some Dry Creek Valley wine pairings for the festivities.
Dinner Party Wine
A New Year’s dinner party is not complete without delicious hors d’oeuvres! A rich, spicy white wine like viognier is just the right white for winter and will compliment a range of cheeses, charcuterie, and everything from smoked salmon to lamb meatballs.
Whether you’re headed to a restaurant or hosting your own dinner party, New Year’s Eve gives you an opportunity to open up something special from your cellar. A Dry Creek Valley cabernet sauvignon or Bordeaux-style blend with a bit of age will give your dinner an unforgettable wow-factor. Don’t have a cellar? Many of our wineries sell library vintages in the tasting room.
Some occasions call for a classic wine pairing, and bubbles for the ball drop is one we wouldn’t dare dispute. The exhilaration of the countdown, noisemakers, and party hats beg to be paired with the effervescence of fun, delicious bubbly. Get the corks popping!

Wines to drink with holiday sweets
New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day are great times to pull out any remaining cookies you made for holidays or chocolates from your stocking. We couldn’t be more enthusiastic about a pairing than we are about dark chocolate and a decadent late harvest zinfandel.
